Test 633: Which Text Areas From FAQ Schema Are Used By Google For Ranking Purposes?

There are multiple zones in the Article schema that can be used by Google to boost the relevance for a keyword. This is typically done via keyword density. In this test, we will identify those zones. Clint has been an advocate of advanced schema implementation beyond just looking for rich snippets for quite some time. With the advancing technology of machine learning and artificial intelligence, it’s only logical that schema would be a valuable tool to boost the relevancy of a page.

In his schema course, he taught us how to build schemas from scratch and turn them into templates for future use. In particular, he chose schemas that are most beneficial to businesses, like the Local Business Schema. He explained that one primary opportunity in the schema is the areas where webmasters can use free text entries for those particular zones in the JSON-LD.

This test will look at if Google is using them as ranking zones after a page is indexed. This information will help us better understand where supplemental rankings can be obtained by leveraging these zones. It will also tell us definitively if Google is reading these zones and taking them into account individually for ranking purposes versus using the whole schema as an information tool.

The next one, we did same setup FAQ schema, there's a schema I wrote, we know that this one if written out properly. Like if I optimize this all around for a word, this would help me rank right.

In this case, there's the test keyword there and test keyword there. So the question section would be found and then the text. The answer of the accepted answer. And there's the page indexed is page ranking. And those two zones are not ranking zones.

So, you can have text inside of the FAQ schema related to a topic, you don't necessarily rank because it's there, which I find is pretty interesting. That was also another one that I totally expected. I expected both of those to be ranked. To be honest.
