This is Test 3 in Dori’s test about Domain Age. In this test, both domains HAVE Age. This is where Aged vs. Aged are being tested to see if they are the equal for ranking power (the first one has been hosted with content on it for 12 years, the later had just been sitting in the registrar for 15 years.)

This test too is about age – domain age. We're taking the last domain from the last test, the one that was registered in 2003. That was in the registrar all that time before anything had been done to it and we're putting it up against a site that was created in 2007. So, it was like here.
However, this site was hosted and had content on it --many pages of content on it in 2007. This one, again, had nothing. So, it came down to 2017 when I hosted this site, put content on it and then since I wasn't using the site anymore I took the index off and I put a new index on it, new homepage on it and another inner page. So, it was pretty similar to this and then of course we had keywords for both the home page and the inner page.
What this is really all about is whether a domain that's hosted and has content on it during this time is better than an older domain. Does age really play that important of a role in the domain? Or could it be if you put content on it during this time it makes the whole domain a little powerful.
Let's go back and check. Again, this is a domain that was hosted and up in 2007 against the domain that I’ve had just in the registrar since 2003. One was hosted, one was not. We have those two inner pages. Test A is the index page. Test B is the inner page and again there's no linking going on here. So, the results: Test A the index page, the newer site that had been hosted, wins out.
This is a bunch of other stuff I have some other linking tests going on here but this is the results with the site that had been hosted – not as old as this one but it had been hosted and had content on it. That's what the index page.
Let's see what the inner page does. Again, the site that was hosted and had content on it beat it out in both. In fact, this one – the one that has the age the inner page in this site isn't even indexed any longer. That might tell you something. What this, I really think, means is Google likes history and the more of it the better.
This site here – the one that I put it up against it was just a small site, didn't have much traffic. It was a team site that I built in 2007 for my staff but it was hosted and it had content on it.
So, we're seeing that that has a pretty big play. Both these sites – both these pages are still in the index and this one only the home page is in the index for this testing keyword and it was really interesting that way back in 2005 Jeff Johnson was the first one to tell me, host and put content on every single site that you purchase. You'll like it later on. It'll make a difference and I don't know how he knew that back in 2005. I know he wasn't testing this stuff but at least not this way.
In any case, the big takeaway here is Google likes history. Now, it'd be interesting to see if it likes history of a spammed site over a site that has normal history. Of course, that's not in this round. I’m just thinking of a next round to do because what I’m trying to do is a deep dive again on topical and domains and linking and all that stuff.
