If you build links to a page's wp-admin can you affect the rank of that page?

The plan is, when you are editing in WordPress, there is a little link when you hover over it and gives you the wp-admin link and gives you a number and that number increases as you add content. My thought was, to remove the &action=edit part and build a link to the post number in the wp-admin and see if we could get movement out of it as it would be a cool backdoor way into link building and maybe it would be something hidden from your competitors. Unfortunately, it didn’t bring any results.

In our group, Jason shared building links on the 3rd level domain hosting URL and I’ve only found two places that let you do it – Network Solutions and also 1and1 will let you do it. It is something that I have not tested but it is like the URL that the server gives the page and it’s all numbers and the .com is actually the name of the server.

It’s like server.com and numbers identifying on one side and some numbers identifying the other side of it. He said he was able to build links to that and see some movement, so that is another thing to test. A little bit tricky to set up but something to think about.

What I like about that is I don’t think it contains the actual domain name of the site and as such. I don’t think that would ever show in Majestic or MOZ, Ahrefs, because the link is not technically going to that domain. So, it would never show up as a link that it is receiving. If it does bring result, it would be pretty cool because your competitors would not see what you are doing.
