A question that has been playing on James’ mind has been about the safety of sending exact match anchor text links to a tier out from a money page. Would this give us protection from Penguin or any other type of algorithmic penalty?

Clint: Let's see, can we take a page by sending exact match anchors, payday loans to a buffer page that links to a test page? Easy, generic anchor text. And this one's really cool. So payday loans, generic link that links to this test page, right? So 50 payday loan, payday loan, anchor texts, to the buffer blog, and then there's a test page.
The way I'm reading this James is the buffer blog is this and it's about payday loans. And then you sent 5000 payday loan backlinks to this page. And this generic anchor text links to this test page. And I love this setup right here. This dope works works really well. And you order the gigs from Fiverr.
You can see when you get your copy of these dossiers, you can see examples of links that were built. position number 5, drop down 1 position. Kind of saying there, 4-2-4 again, drop down again, then ended up position 1 roughly, 1-2-3-4-4 weeks. almost 8 weeks, right? Is my math right about, close to? Yeah, almost but had to come through. That's a long time to wait. Yeah. I mean, if you're on a retainer, monthly retainer, that's awesome, right?
You can tell your clients, hey, you're gonna have to wait this long. And if they're cool clients, and they understand SEO, they're gonna get it. But man, it is a long time to wait for positive results. I don't think it's unusual these days to be honest.
My link building system, I build links, I want to say a month and a half ago, and just this last weekend, I started seeing the push to those, that wait, the Google's built in there for link building. That's getting longer. And the lesson there is if you're gonna do websites targeting certain periods of the year, it's time to build that stuff out now.
Dori: I have a question. Was that page, the middle page, the tier 1 page linking to the test page? Was that another test page? Or was that a pbn page?
Clint: I think that was the blog that he is illustrating. I don't want to go too fast, but I'll break it.
Dori: But yeah, was that just a random test blog? Yeah, it does, it has a generic keyword up there. Blogger? Yes, okay great. So it was not on a PBN page. Buffer blog was not a PBN.
Clint: Which is good. It kind of also validates that you can still use blogger sites. It's tier one, a lot of people are saying you can't so there you go, you can.
Dori: Yeah. Well, you know it naturally took a little bit of time for that link for Google to register all those links than that link, you know, over from the tier, you know doing tier 2s to a tier 1 to the money page. Yeah. So it is going to take a little bit longer to hammer those tier 1s with links, but just illustrated, it definitely works. Well I think it makes sense the timeline. So let me scropp up here a little bit faster.
Dori: But then would a page from blogger, a link from blogger do the same thing?
Clint: Built it here. It's if it's a brand new site, my guess is probaably a brand new site with no backlinks right? James ,someome see. And that page is brand new. So he built it here. new site zero plus zero equals 00 plus zero equals zero. Google's like yeah, we'll give you a little bit of credit for this one. And there you see that credit kicking in there.
At the same time, those 5000 backlinks were getting assessed. For the blogger page. So there's three weeks for those two to kick in. And then I'm thinking that, okay, three weeks those two kicked in your tier one takes three weeks, and then that it has to go through the process of getting reevaluated or re evaluated, etc. So you end up waiting another 2 or 3 weeks to get the second pastor. So for every tier, based off of what his example here is, because we're in a testing environment, you can monitor that a lot closer than you can in the real world.
I would not be afraid to say for every tier, add 3 weeks to your wait time to see what how long, they see the effect from it. So if you're one of those people that likes to build the 10 tier towers of crap, you're just kind of slowing yourself down significantly when you can do one 2s and 3s and kind of set in that, what 3-6-9 week timeframe, you know, when everything's gonna pop, helps you plan a whole lot better. I would think that's my takeaway from that.
