We’re in an SEO group that teaches that having your keyword in the title or URL of a linking page will pass more juice - the reason given is that. there is more relevance to the link. We test that out and see if it does pass more juice.

Give Ryan a ping on anything that you might need. He is probably in the know. This comes from a group that he is in, some group that is teaching some techniques.
The idea is, how can you get a link that passes more juice and one of the concepts is to add the keyword in the title of the page. This is a situation like you have a PBN network where you can control that or you are doing a guest post where you can control the content, does putting your target keyword in the title of that content allow a link on that content to pass more juice.
So in this particular test, he has the link set up to shoot the juice in, the anchor text used is generic anchor text. There is nothing going on with the anchor text there. The only thing that is providing relevance, if you will, is the keyword existing in the page title or not.
This is the original page and this is going to be our test page. This is the page, the keyword is in the title tag, generic anchor text pointing to number four. And then on this one, keyword is not in the tag, generic anchor text is pointing to number three. If this one ends up passing more juice, what will happen is that this one will jump number three.
The link itself is identical, it’s just the one link has the page title that has the keyword in it. The other link, the page title does not. The anchor text is exactly the same and is generic.
Almost immediately, the link with the title jumped the link without, it is an immediate jump and then following up and staying up. What we found here is that the link that has the page that contains the keyword in the title is passing more juice.
Dori, you do a lot with PBN networks and link networks and this is an opportunity for someone like you to get a real edge in your network. You can encourage people on the stuff that they publish.
Dori: They can be better in their anchor text profiles, as well and still pass juice.
A 100% right. You can do more generic anchor texts without stuffing that in but you know that you are passing good juice with the keyword in the tile.
