We thought it would be interesting to see if keywords got indexed in the parts of the page which were tested as ranking factors in previous tests.
After reviewing several of the older tests, several factors were chosen to re-test.

This came from a brand new tester – Boryslav. Boryslav has been very active in the group and he also has some fantastic test ideas and it’s great to have him in. This goes into also what I have been talking about with getting a variety of ideas. You may have guessed from his name, he is not from the Bronx, he is not from the UK, or Australia, so it is really great SEO mindsets from people from other parts of the world because people do think differently, they approach problems differently, they have different ideas on solutions, so this is fantastic.
What he wanted to do was to take a bunch of the onpage factors that we have looked at independently and throw them all into one page with the idea of a – can we confirm that these things are still good, but b – what if you have them all in the same page, will they index?
You can see that he got the keyword, the signal, and did it index?
These are all the different factors and if they indexed or not and it what was pretty sweet was that these all lined up exactly with all of our single tests but for classes. This was the only one that did not jive with the single test. But all the others did. It is a pretty cool concept with what if you’ve got all these factors on the page, could you still index a page with a separate keyword in those factors if you have too many factors on a page, that sort of thing.
I wasn’t overly surprised to find that the classes didn’t work, as the only not jiving one causes I think it is a pretty weak signal. So that did not surprise me terribly. I bet if time goes by, it might go or if some other factors kind of ping. But, it is pretty cool to see this test where all of these things could have a separate keyword. You’ve got your h1s, h4s, italic, img alts, they all have a separate keyword and the page would index for all those keywords and it is pretty cool. It is a fresh page too, which is pretty surprising.
So the idea is, you can rank a page for a lot of different keywords. At least you can index a page for a lot of different keywords. I would still, cause when I am writing a page I go for one page one primary keyword. But this also goes to how you can get one of those secondaries. If you look at your search console, you would see that your best performing pages are ranking for hundreds of keywords. A lot of them are probably one time on some of these elements. That makes sense. Kind of like a real live version of what we see being confirmed in a test like this where in one page can rank for all these different keywords. That is how it works and that you can get a keyword in just one specific location and that it will work. This came from a brand new tester – Boryslav.
